The Highland Park Community House is the cornerstone of the Highland Park’s Cultural Arts Campus. As the home of the Community, we provide a full calendar of cultural arts programs and classes for children, teens and adults as well as community activities, organizational meetings in addition to hosting private functions and special events. Early Accomplishments
Did you know that the Highland Park Woman’s Club: - Secured $12,000 from Andrew Carnegie to build the first municipal library building in Highland Park
- Started the first Parent/Teacher Organization (PTO) at Elm Place School
- Was responsible for starting a garbage collection system in Highland Park
- Obtained a loan to start building the clubhouse, now the Highland Park Community House, on Sheridan and Elm Place
- Donated the building to the City of Highland Park in 1994. The Club has use of the Community House for meetings and programs
- Donated funds to the Tsunami and Katrina Relief Funds
